nate, "jasmine" is exactly as you describe it: masterful, modest, mature. and it is exquisitely beautiful. an aesthetic that would dismiss a work like that for precisely those qualities, and would choose other works simply because they possess "light and heat" (or worse, buzz) would also raise more questions than it would answer.

i share your enthusiasm for "jasmine," and from first listen, i have felt that it is simply, and very obviously, a classic. each subsequent listen has only strengthened that feeling.
